Nat blitzed the field towards the end beating some awesome company in the process such as Rodney Dangerfield and equal third players Lachie Neale and Patrick Cripps. This was Fyfe’s second Brownlow medal - the first coming in 2015. Congratulations to him for being a worthy winner and an inspiration to his teammates and supporters alike. His on-field leadership is invaluable to how the Dockers play. No doubt we will see more and more of this young man in the future and who knows, a third Brownlow! L-R: Vanessa Gatica, Habir Singh Kang and Gabriel D'Angelo The Multicultural AFL Football TV and Radio Show – Week 27 Finals week 3 By Fiv Antoniou 19/09/2019 Last week the two semi-finals produced some mixed results with Geelong defeating the West Coast Eagles at the MCG to make the Preliminary final and the GWS Giants just pipped the Brisbane Lions to line up against the Magpies this week. Like it or not the West Coast Eagles had their spirits subdued and it looked that way from very early in the game. The reason was probably Willie Rioli’s suspension due to allegedly tampering with his drug test specimen sample. The Eagles started that game on a flat note and were totally deflated by the last quarter. Full credit to the Cats, they jumped the West Coast from the on-set and systematically unravelled them to win the game. However, the win did come with a caveat, in that Tom Hawkins got himself suspended for an indiscretion behind the play for striking the

Our condolences go to his family, the St. Kilda Football Club, their fans, supporters, friends, sports journalists and his workmates at Foxtel. The man they endearingly called ‘Spud’ will be sadly missed by the AFL world! Last week, the first round of finals footy had mixed results. Some favourites didn’t perform enough and others surprised with really poor performances. Suffice to say that the top two sides lost their matches, brings me to reflect on the unpredictability of results throughout the current season. The last time teams that finished 1st and 2nd on the AFL ladder both lost their opening finals games was in 1926! What happened to the favourites at the top last week was no

CONGRATULATIONS to our presenters: Vanessa Gatica, Habir Singh Kang and Gabriel D'Angelo on being nominated for Best Culturally and or Linguistically Diverse Personality for the 2019 Antenna Awards; Finals week 1 By Fiv Antoniou 3/09/2019     Starting Thursday night, the 2019 Toyota AFL Finals series comes to life from Perth’s Optus Stadium where the West Coast Eagles host the Bombers in the first elimination final. The four finals matches this week are played from, Western Australia, Victoria, NSW and Queensland. Yes, only one game in Melbourne – Ouch! That must hurt the League’s box-office revenue stream because of the smaller interstate grounds. In the meantime, congratulations to a couple of Blues: Patrick Cripps for his MVP and Sam Walsh for winning the Rising Star Award. In the last 5 years, the MVP winner has gone on to win the Brownlow Medal in the same year. News out this week heralded Brendan Bolton’s return to the Hawks as Director of Coaching, Jarryd R
